Hurray!

A new 5 pages comics  by Alashazam

Alashazam produced these colorful 5 pages, the artist did not follow exactly the "ppp toolkit", but made a nice variation featuring some apocalyptic zombies.

In this new 5 pages the action takes place in an post-apocalyptic destroyed city filled with zombies.

This is a great Xmas present 

Here is the new 5 pages comics  by Clifford 

Following the previous episode, Octobriana is now in a swamp trying to locate an evil AI (artificial Intelligence)

The comic labelled 'Octobriana adventure 53121' was scheduled early 2023, 

So happy, it arrived earlier, this is the best present ever!

The comic artist Clifford is imitating the old comic style of the 1970s.

In this new 5 pages the action takes place in a swamp where an evil AI battle droid is probably lost, while Octobriana is rushing in with her motorcycle to save the day (or maybe not).

PS : This new Samizdat "53121" was generated with the PPP toolkit.

On Monday, Nov 21, 2022, there was an announcement of a "New" Octobriana Adventure

There is going to be another 5 pages, the scene is a swamp, and Octobriana will be fighting a robot fueled with a corrupted artificial intelligence, and ... 

This might be coming as early 2023

Returning to the pyramid for an unfinished job, Octobriana follows the pattern of the original old school adventures invented by Petr Sadecky. 

The comic artist Clifford is imitating the old comic style of the 1970s.

In this 5 pages "comics remake" the action takes place in an unknown exotic oriental city were an ancient mummy is rising (again) from her tomb, while Octobriana rushing in on her pterodactyl will save the day (or maybe not).

PS : The Samizdat "14453" was generated with the PPP toolkit.

Candide2 featuring Octobriana

Another October treat, a nice surprise from Czech ground
this month Karel Jerie has published "Candide 2" this little gem that is featuring Octobriana not as the principal character, but nevertheless she appears a lot in the album.

This is the last day of October, and as I promised to John A. Short here is my review for his masterpiece
"Octobriana: The Underground History"

John A. Short did a wonderful job, it is by far the most detailed and complete search I've seen - The book is 116 pages packed with Octobriana illustrations and references - it is a must have for all Octobriana fan, may I say it again ?
A Must have!

Reading the book, I could see the passion John has for Octobriana, in his effort to compile all the various traits of Octobriana into a comics that makes sense.
The other great thing about the book is that John has planted a lot of "opening" for new stories to come...

Just buy the book, you won't regret it - there are 300 copies only, don't wait!

Octobriana in old photograph probably from the late seventies.
As you can see a very historical discovery - of this "authentic" photo taken in Moscow in what appear to be the "Red Square".

Unless of course it is another elaborate hoax.

Billy Idol has an Octobriana tattooed on his arm - I thought a tattoo covered Octobriana was a nice variation.
Perhaps a nice variant of how a modern day Octobriana could be.

Octobriana always find a way to return.

Novas exploded in the galaxies
and she heard only the cry of migrating birds
right overhead
and those flocks drove her on.
The white woman's big breasts leap in the gallop.

Like a shot cougar
she roared her song.

Mother Russia cosplay

Mother Russia

This is Toni Darling in one of her magnificent cosplay of the villainness "Mother Russia" (from the movie Kickass 2) - white hair, tough looking, impervious to physical pain, hard-body, strict look, a patch on the eye ; she certainly could be a reminiscence of Octobriana, maybe a cousin that turned bad...

So far, Octobriana hasn't been lucky enough to be made into a cosplay - or I might be wrong, who knows?

Why all Russian women are so cliché? either the dumb blond bimbo, or the powerful dominatrix, another  thing to ponder at 3am ...

In the black and white version, you might see 6 fingers on the left hand, I don't think it was intentional.

I just noticed a very interesting card design too - a paper collage with a very nice "underground" feel.

Octobriana joining hands in prayer that's not a very common pose. Or Maybe her prayer is that a revolution would start soon.

I finally got the joke about "Bobo the Final" - that was a reference to "Bohumil Konečný" alias Bimba one of the original artist of the book "Octobriana and the Russian Underground".

Konec means "The End" in Czech.

It looks like there is a new Octobriana comics seriously in progress - after the pencil pictures leak back in December 2010 ; there was a long silence ... but then out of the blue came a full colored page.

What we know so far about the story is that it involves Pro Junior, a Siberian veteran porno-actress (Vladrushka Valentinovich Vostok), and a couple of villains (Dr Mabuse ?! the Dark Ones ?! )

You might be surprised to see Octobriana so tanned, but that's on purpose, after all she's half Slavic/half Toltec (her father was a Slavic Barbarian king and her mother a Toltec Queen) - the author John Linton Roberson had in mind how Beyonce would look if she has been drawn by the underground comics legend Robert Crumb.

Now the fact, that Octobriana in the picture is talking about "Cock for the Revolution" has nothing to do with enrolling chicken, rooster or cockerel in her army of Freedom Fighters ... this could upset the Femen, but Octobriana is playing the flute on Pro Junior and this is basically how the story starts.

Prague Komiks fest

Komiks fest 2011 in Prague is now over, it was interesting to meet many international guests, especially a talented Russian comic artist Konstantin Komardin.

During the exhibition "Tigers from East" of Konstantin Komardin and Jozef “Danglár” Gertli.  Konstantin was really nice taking the time to autograph the Petr Sadecky 1971 book with this Octobriana drawing on the left.
Fixing a 40 years old issue, since there was (paradoxically) no Russian art in "Octobriana and the Russian Underground".

The second photo is  a large painting by Jozef “Danglár” Gertli, depicting a jaded blueish Octobriana veteran holding cigar and AK47 and who seemed to have participate in too many revolutionary "coup".

She does look a bit old on that picture, but hey ... 2011 is marking her 40th birthday! and it doesn't look like the world is yet rid of the need of revolution.
